Click for Detail | French Flower Market Vintage Style Rose Painting Inspired by a vintage French advertisement and the famous flower market at Ile de la Cite', Paris, I painted this lovely cottage rose bouquet and banner advertising the market. The roses are done is shades of pink and deep red. The banner is done in a lovely French blue. The hand painted text reads, "Marche' Aux Fleurs" (Flower Market) "Paris" "Ile De La Cite'" (Island in the city). The framed piece measures 19 1/4" by 13 1/4". The frame is professional quality, brand new, and solid wood. It is antiqued ivory and gray, very ornate, and has the appropriate hanging wire on the back. It is ready for your wall right out of the box. The frame coordinates beautifully with the mottled ivory background of the painting which is done in acrylics on a 17" by 11" by 1/4" thick masonite panel. This is an original, painted free hand with no stencils or decals, and signed by the artist, Angela Thompson. There is no glass over the painting.
